Simple no-drill solution for bathroom towel/mat hanging
I ordered this Adjustable Suction Cup Towel Bar because I need a place to hang my non-slip mat when it’s not in use, but I don’t want to drill through the sides of the shower liner. This seemed like a perfect solution.Assembly is simple: peel off the plastic protectors, place it where you want it, apply firm pressure to the suction cups, and twist until they are tight. One of the twisting mechanisms on mine never tightened, just kept spinning, so I can’t tell if it’s firmly attached or not. So far, it has held up to holding my plastic bath mat well enough.I didn’t measure how wide it gets, as that wasn’t a concern for me. I will note that it doesn’t get narrow enough to hang across the back of my shower, so check your dimensions if that’s your plan. I had to hang it against the long wall of the shower, which is okay because I have a curved shower curtain rod giving me extra space, but would have been a no-go if I didn’t have that.It shows hard water stains very obviously. I’m not concerned about that personally, but if you have hard water and don’t want stains on your towel rack, you’ll need to be diligent about cleaning appropriately every time this gets wet.Overall, it’s a simple solution for bathroom towel/mat storage if you can’t or prefer not to drill into your walls. It’s not fancy, nor does it seem terribly sturdy, but it’s a good solution for the “no holes allowed” situations.

Measured center post to center post, rod only expands to 22″
This is an attractive towel rack with a nice finish. It is wide enough to store a couple wash cloths or hand towels.The mounting instructions leave much to be desired. With two mounting attempts, I found that it works best if I started with the mounting disks screwed tightly onto the rack posts. After measuring my target mounting location, I removed the protective plastic and set the sticky disks in place. I used pressure to make them stick then turned the silver exterior cap as the instructions directed me.A few hours later I turned the exterior cap more. After a day with wash rags hanging on the rack, it is holding.This towel rack does not expand out to 24”. There is a plastic interior sleeve that gives support to the rod that prevents the rod from being opened to a full 24”. The rod does feel sturdy enough to hold my washcloths. The rack can only be expanded to 22” width from center post to center post.I intended to put it on the back of my smoothly painted bathroom door. The way the door is designed, a true 24” would have fit on the outer edge frame. This shorter rack would have had part of the mounting circle hanging off the interior edge, which is not acceptable.I was able to shorten the rack and mount it on the interior panel but this will decrease my towel / wash cloth hanging area.
