It’s a good coat rack.
This coat rack is very functional and looks good. One critical review said it’s cheap pine wood. It is pine, as stated in the product description. For the reasonable cost of this coat rack, you are not going to get a good hard wood such as oak. A different reviewer said the pine split. Pine is a soft wood. If you over tighten the screws, it wouldn’t be too hard to cause a split. One reviewer complained that the holes for mounting the coat rack aren’t spaced to match stud spacing. There are standards for stud spacing, but those standards may from one locality to another.Installation takes some patience.Be smart:- Remove the hinge from one side to make it easier to put the hooks on.- To attach the hooks to the wood panel, insert one screw first and tighten it a little bit. From the back of the wood panel, shine a flashlight through the hole so you can see where the other screw hole in the metal hook base is. Don’t rush; it does take some patience to get the screws properly aligned. There seems to be no reason to leave the hinge on when mount the coat rack. It serves no function.I would have preferred more spacing between the hooks for bulky coats, but I suppose this depends on what you are hanging on the hooks.

Good Rack 🙂
I am mixed on how to give this review.Yes, it is two pieces of would that you open up, which I knew before I bought, and it was not an issue for me.What I liked is that you have the options to put as many or as few hooks that you want. That being said, the holes are there so if you choose not to put a hook, you see a hole. The hooks are a great size, and sturdy on the wall. I have heavy coats hanging without issue. But for me, it’s perfect because I hung it inside a closet- I was able to put the hooks I want and no one sees it.I think how well this works for you will depend on your use and where you put it. I would recommend this, I find it to be a great value for the money and a solid purchase.

Cheap. Won’t last. Won’t support much weight. Infuriating to install.
First off, the mounting holes are not properly spaced for stud installation. You’ll get one screw into a stud and the rest will have to be through drywall mounts. How careful is everyone in your family about placing things gently on the hook without dropping the weight of their arms onto the hanger? The only thing that’s going to keep this thing from being ripped out of the drywall and leaving a couple tearouts in your home is how cheap the hooks are. They’re soft aluminum that have been tapped to accept a zinc (?) machine screw. You’ll be lucky if you don’t start stripping them out (see below) just during the install. I have no faith that the threads will withstand the test of children and time. Every time a coat gets hung up, you can see the hook flex away from the board and the board flex on its mounts in the drywall. They couldn’t even get the holes for the hooks properly spaced. They’re off by about one screw radius. Only about half of the hooks mounted without having to get out the drill and relocating the holes that it came with. Between that project and trying to get the machine screws to find their holes (there’s no chamfer of any kind on the socket or the screw to help here,) you’re REALLY going to want to remove the hinge between the two sections before taking on the process of mounting the hooks. The idiotic hinge means that the entire assembly is flapping about while you’re trying to assemble the thing. There’s no way to lay it down because the hooks would be on the side that would be “down.” It’s basically a two-person assembly job.

It’s two 16″ boards with a hinge in the middle
I’m giving 3 stars because I am using the coat rack instead of sending it back. I’m crafty and my husband is handy, so we can make it work, but I’m honestly offended that I received a product that was so sloppily put together. You should know that it’s not a 32″ long board. It’s two 16″ boards kept together with a hinge in the middle. I’m assuming that this is for shipping purposes. It arrives folded and you’re immediately thinking “that’s not what I ordered”.Anyway, the really frustrating part is how rough this was sent out. I’m including pics, but the cut edges of the boards (where they meet) are all jagged and nasty, much lighter than the dark stain of the rest of the board. Same for where some of the screw holes are. Ugly, rough – almost gouged looking.Speaking of screws, don’t plan on using the included hardware. It’s crap. Supply your own quality screws and anchors.Even better, if you’re at all handy, save yourself the money. Skip buying this product. Stain a board, slap a $10 pack of hooks on it, mount it on your wall and call it a day. I wish I had done that in the first place.

For the price, the quality wasn’t there by far, screws were striping and wouldn’t get tight, and the wood was all scuffed up, we never had a bad product or a bad review to write but here’s to a first one for sure.
