Automatic Defrost: Our advanced auto-defrosting system continuously monitors the ambient temperature using built-in sensors. When the temperature is detected to be low, the unit initiates an automatic defrost cycle to prevent frost buildup and related issues. This feature conserves energy and helps extend the lifespan of the unit

Great deal on quality, small crawlspace combo dehu+pump – when on sale
5/21/2024 update: Still going strong, a year out. Didn’t have to use it much in the winter, but it’s been a hot humid “spring” here in michigan (already hitting close to 90 some days with humidity in my crawlspace getting into the high 70s without this running.) It’s consistently getting things down to about 45 or 50%. For people trying to get below that, almost none of these systems are designed to do that. So far, so good. Great purchase, great, fast responses from the company via email. Bumped to 5 stars.Original review.I got it for my crawl space, which has a super tight entry way and short ceiling. It was one of the few models that would even fit in the door. It was a pain to drag around under there, but possible for a man with a heart condition and bum knee, so not too bad. It’s a 1000 Sq ft space down there and it got my summer humidity down to 45% (from 75-80% originally) in there rather quickly, but because there’s two sections, I’ll need to get a ducted fan to circulate the air better. It has a decent built in fan that blows pretty well, and you can attach a 6″ duct to it, which is nice, but Alorair says only 6 feet max length for that, which feels like nowhere near enough to be useful. It has a built-in pump, which comes in quite handy, and means only one plug. (Some people recommend getting a separate unit in case it breaks, but Alorair gives pretty clear instructions on how to replace it including electrical diagrams, so I’m not super worried about it.)FYI, it runs pretty quiet, even lying on the ground right next to it, I’ve been next to louder fans inside the house. I can’t really hear it inside at all unless I lie down on the floor and really listen to it. (I would not get the ceiling straps unless you think it will flood.) It pulls about 3-400 watts while running, but can spike as high as about 1100 or 1200 watts during startup. Currently on the same circuit as my well water pump, so I only run it when no one is showering, but plan to get a dedicated circuit ASAP.The remote works great, I used a 50ft cat5 cable to run it up to the main living area, and you can set it to run based on the sensor in the unit, or the one in the remote panel itself.Alorair answered emails on their site very quickly – within one business day. I’ll update if there are any issues.

Work great, had about a year now
After having bought many home dehumidifiers thru the years, all of which ultimately fail and before doing so, never did the job for our basement I decided to buy these commercial grade units. You will not be disappointed. I have a 2000 SQ ft basement sectioned off in half, always way too raw damp musty. I put one in each. They pump and drain great. They reach the desired level I set then shut themselves off and turn on. They are not quiet but not an oyingly loud, like a fan.

Amazing
It’s not often for me to see high quality equipment such as this and I am really impressed by it. The un boxing and installation process is extremely easy. The power cable is more than long enough the drain line they provide and the quick connect is awesome and the quiet unit operation is amazing. The old dehumidifier I had used to keep me awake at night this one you can’t even tell when it’s on. My basement is roughly 1850 ft.² and this unit is more than adequate and does an excellent job. Within 24 hours of turning it on I noticed a significant difference in the climate of my basement plus the unit actually turns off compared to the old Home Depot whatever brand dehumidifier I had which ran constantly and sometimes would drain other times you would have to empty the bucket etc etc which was aggravating. This dehumidifier is 100% awesome and worth the money.

Plug in, turn on.. no muss no fuss..
This dehumidifier works great.. and it could not be simpler to use. Just plug in.. decided if you want to use the pump or gravity drain. No switches for this: if you want to use the gravity drain you open the plug on that side and if you want to use the pump drain leave the gravity drain plugged and the pump will engage as needed. I’d say this is a solid value. No problems with leakage so far. My only qualm is that it is heavy enough to be a bit unwieldy when I had to get it into my attic.

Commercial quality dehumidifier
This is the best dehumidifier I have ever had. It’s been able to keep my polebarn dry and comfortable all summer. It is very efficient.

Failed just after return window.
TLDR: 35 days after purchase, I don’t have a functioning unit and when/if it gets repaired it still won’t have the remote access I paid extra for. This humidifier was easy to setup, and it removed a lot of water for 32 days, but then it quit working with error code E1. This is the Humidity Sensor and I’m waiting on a response to my support request to resolve that problem since the unit is just passed the return window from Amazon.I bought the HDi65S over the less expensive HD55 specifically because I wanted the remote operation from my phone. But, after delivery when I went through the process to install the app on my phone, I could not get the required registration email. After an exchange with product support, I learned that the current AlorAir app is no longer supported, and I could therefore not register to use it.I was told that new app was being developed and if I wanted that app, I would need to submit another help desk request to be put on the notification list. It kind of seems like my first request should have been enough. So far, my experience with this brand is not very good.

Highly recommended!
I bought this unit to de-humidify a crawl space and also needed a unit with a built-in pump; I do not always have access to the unit so I wanted the HDi65S WiFi unit. Order arrived promptly and was set in place in < 1 hr. When AlorAir updated their AloirAir-C app, the unit needed a new circuit board. AlorAir provided the part and instructions, and it was replaced in <10 minutes. Unit is functioning perfectly now with remote access and control. This is the 2nd AloirAir unit I have purchased and I highly recommend this brand for residential de-humidifiers.
