A Sound Transformer in Disguise (Three functions in one device)

MO-411 the only sound transformer looks like a power strip but it has many hidden functions:

1) A sound transformer: MO-411 separates music source into three frequency bands(L,M,H) and provides power modulation to its corresponding outlet. More sound, more power. Use it as a house decoration tool for partying, Karaoke nights, or even for commercial Storefront lights decorations.

2) A bluetooth speaker: With a built in bluetooth and speaker, MO-411 can function as a bluetooth speaker. Look for “XFW-M28” on your bluetooth pairing device list. Pair with your PC to act as an external speaker.

3) Regular power strip: MO-411 provides three regular toggle switch controlled power outlets.

Typical applications: Christmas lights decorations is no longer limited by just a few music tunes, Computer Bluetooth Speaker integrates your work area. Having more fun with family KTV nights, Storefront, Bar & Restaurant decorations, or your imagination… etc

toggle switchtoggle switch

TOMO: I only look like a power strip

Three toggle switches control three corresponding power outlets labelled L, M, and H. L stands for low frequencies, M for mid frequencies, and H for high frequencies.

On Position I, the corresponding outlet will turn ON and deliver up to 10A of current. In other words, position I on the toggle switch works like a regular power outlet ON switch. Position O on the toggle switch is an OFF control for the corresponding outlet.

To allow sound frequency control for the L, M, and H outlets, toggle the corresponding switch to position II. More sound, more power.

    Both units failed almost immediately.
Both units failed as a color organ almost immediately. Both units are wired to the outlets with the dangerous situation of neutral and line reversed. This makes the neutral hot and very dangerous for lights that use an Edison type socket as the socket is now hot.

Key component for making a fabulous Christmas Display with lights that dance to the music
A mixer with range adjustments is suggested to adjust the eBully light responses and also to adjust the output level to the eBully for best effect. A condenser microphone is a great add to the mix if you are broadcasting over a short-range FM transmitter so you can wish children in the cars that stop to listen a “Merry Christmas”The attached Dancing lights diagram has the Amazon stock numbers of the key components.

I’m a beginner didn’t work quite as I expected it to.
I got this music-synchronized power strip primarily for my holiday decorations. While this power strip serves its purpose, it may not be the best choice if you’re solely in need of a basic power strip. If you just need a power strip, I’d suggest looking into other options. This strip is supposed to synchronize with music. It comes with a built-in speaker that can be connected via Bluetooth to your phone or laptop. However, the onboard speaker’s volume left something to be desired. It could certainly have been louder and could use a few improvements. The plugs are labeled. This makes it easy to know which plug to use during setup. A particularly useful feature is the “companion mode”. This allows you to connect an external speaker to the power strip. This is particularly useful for my holiday decorations as it allows the music to be audible while the lights sync, since the onboard speaker is horrific. Additionally, if you purchase more than one of these power strips, they can be linked together for synchronized operation, which is a nice touch.Unfortunately, I must admit that as a beginner, I found it challenging to synchronize the lights with the music effectively. The correspondence between the two wasn’t as seamless as I had hoped. It’s possible that additional items or expertise might be needed to get the best results. So, if you’re a beginner like me, I wouldn’t recommend this product. However, for professionals who know how to optimize the setup, this could be a worthwhile investment, out of the box it doesn’t work very well. It just feels like you may need additional corresponding parts to make this work correctly, and no information is included with the instructions.

Really neat lighting control for lights that have no control
I should say, “Really neat lighting control for lights that have no control as long as you just need sound activation”. And it works really great for setting up sound activated lighting. I tested with some oldschool incandescent colored flood lights. And it works nicely. You don’t have any control as to what frequencies that light banks will actiivate, nor the sound sensitivity. I did not test the bluetooth function. I can see where this might be great for outdoor light displays (like for Christmas or Halloween) if you have existing soundtracks going that the unit can “hear” and react to. The bluetooth speaker in this power strip would be useless in that situation.

    “Works” but high seizure risk
Note: I purchased mine from an alternate retailer.I love the idea of this. Synchronized holiday lights that can dance to any music, as opposed to a predetermined short playlist. However, in practice, this thing is just a sputtering seizure engine. It is not consistent in how it lights up – the same tones will work one moment but not the next. When a tone lights up a string, it lights up only for an instant. The result is randomized instantaneous flashing chaos that resembles a strobe light on drugs. This is a tremendous danger to anyone at risk for photosensitive epilepsy.Near as I can tell without opening up the case, the fault is entirely in software. If they updated their algorithm to be more consistent in which tones activate the lights, if they activated the lights for longer durations, and if they coded in a slower onset-falloff when the lights activate and deactivate, this would be a tremendous product!I don’t think it’s possible to update the firmware on these devices, however, so any updates would have to wait for a new version of the product and everyone who has one of these would need to buy a new one.I have very high hopes for this kind of power strip in the future. But its current state is more like a prototype than anything.Note: At some point I may crack mine open to see if it’s possible to update the firmware internally, such as an internal UART header or something. If so, maybe there’s a DIY market for this iteration.

    Awesome easy product
This is an easy way if your a beginner at light shows and don’t have a lot of time. Easily connects to bluetooth to play music and lights sync great. I did have to adjust the bass a little on my music to get the low frequency lights to go off but it was an easy fix. Overall recommend.

    Interesting device
I run 12 volt power supplies for my indoor speakers in which have cooling fans that can get a bit annoying in a quiet room, Well this takes care of all of that because it only powers them on when it detects an audio source. Highly recommended!!
