Shelves
Our kitchen needs more space. Like everyone else.We have this small dead area at the end of the counters. I ordered this shelving unit for that space. The back of these shelves is against the end of the counter. 2nd pic is my attempt to show that the back looks finished so it won’t matter if you put it somewhere visible. It’s working well as our catch all. All those things that you just don’t have room for but got them anyway.Very easy to put together. Save your hand and dig out the cordless drill and a Phillips bit. This set of shelves is fancier than the rest of the kitchen. I love it anyway

Flimsy
Looks cute, but small and feels very flimsy.

Beautiful
I recently purchased the HOTLUU 5-Tier Farmhouse Bookshelf in black for my home office, and I was immediately struck by how truly beautiful the design is. The farmhouse style, with its unique accents and tall, slender profile, adds a wonderful touch of character to the room that instantly elevates the space. It’s exactly the kind of piece that works well for both books and displaying decorative items, which was a huge selling point for me.My experience with assembly was surprisingly positive. When dealing with furniture of this size, you always brace yourself for a frustrating afternoon, but I found the setup process for this bookshelf not as difficult to assemble as I initially anticipated. The instructions were clear enough, and while it certainly requires time and attention, it didn’t feel overly complex or involve those infuriating, misaligned parts that plague some flat-pack furniture. It was manageable, which is a big win in my book. However, I ran into one critical piece of advice that I must pass on to anyone buying this unit: assemble it near the set location, or you’re going to have a problem moving it, especially alone. Once this tall, five-tiered unit is constructed, it becomes quite heavy and a little unwieldy. Trying to maneuver it across the room, around corners, or especially over carpet by myself was a genuine struggle. The finished structure needs to be handled carefully to maintain its stability, so if you are putting this in a study, living room, or bedroom, do yourself a huge favor and build it exactly where it will stand. In the end, I am extremely happy with the final result. It’s a gorgeous, functional piece of furniture that wasn’t a nightmare to put together. Just be smart about where you build it, and you’ll have a stunning new bookcase to enjoy.

lots of assembly required taking over an hour
Wow – fortunately I like doing puzzles or assembling this would have been pretty frustrating. While all the parts are nicely labeled, the direction that they go in is not so you have to study the images in the 25 step instruction booklet before tightening the 50 cam-locks. That’s right – 25 steps – though the last one is to attach the angle that holds the top against the wall so it doesn’t tip over. It took me just over an hour to assemble this and I have done similar pieces before. At the end of the day it is surprisingly stable – hopefully it will stay that way. I would not attempt this without a power screwdriver though because the cheap screwdriver included will no doubt leave a few blisters on your hands and probably not allow you to get them tight. The biggest problem with the cam-locks is that they are actually too big for the fiberboard and leave dents in the outside surface on the sides. They also like to get stuck together in the package and are difficult to get apart. Included are sticky pads that go over the cam-locks making it look pretty cheesy! I think it would look better if they just had painted cams. The bottom shelf can be put in one of three positions using the enclosed brackets. There are also little plastic angles and screws that go in the back to support the thin panels, but the screws are really too short or the fiberboard too thin to hold the screws. I have built many cabinets from REAL wood so putting something like this in my home is a bit of an insult. This is going in my office temporarily until I get it more organized and have time to build something. On the good note, this is very well packed with foam between all the pieces, but even at that there were a few small chips on one of the pieces but not in a place that is noticeable. I honestly don’t think it is worth the price and would much rather pay a high school shop student to build something – but as I said, I like making cabinets so I can be critical.

Easy to assemble and extremely sturdy
The installation process was simpler than expected. The panels and screw packs were clearly categorized, and I followed the manual and installation video step by step. What surprised me most was its stability—even when shaken vigorously after assembly, it didn’t budge an inch. The shelves are also thick and substantial, easily holding heavy stacks of books without any issues.
