Pair the remote
Ok, so I like this lamp, but pros and cons: Pros- floor off/on switch, remote that works with the smart bulb and can dim, change the hue, & set a timer. The flexible pole is a great feature and it’s sturdy and easy to put together. Cons- the remote didn’t work for our first lamp we received. Troubleshooting for this in the description and the instruction book said re-insert the batteries and try replacing them. We did both, remote stilling didn’t work. Amazon sent us a replacement. For the new one, the lamp shade ring was missing, so that won’t stay on. And the remote once again didn’t work. After messing around with it for a while and a deep dive in YouTube, I found the remote needs to be paired. No where in the instructions did it say the remote needed to be paired. So, I’m noting it here. Hold the power button down on the remote until the red light flashes, the light will turn on and you’re now paired. Hopefully you get a lampshade ring to hold that on and you’re good.

It is a very cute lamp however remote did not work and cannot replace bulb
Hello, to start I did get this as part of the Vine Program.Right now, I have an old want to be modern old lamp that is bent and partially broken. I thought this would be a great substitute as I appreciated that it allows you to bend the goose neck so you can target the lamp area.Pros:- It is a cute lamp for sure- it is very easy to put together- the bulb that comes with it is supposed to be smart and has a remote- the lamp gives up a very good amount of light- it is lightweight but overall sturdy- it comes well packaged and had no dings or dents or scratches- the remote is nice and has a lot of preprogrammed lightning settings (if it works, mine did not so I could not test it)Again, it was a very solid good-looking lamp for me, and I had high hopes of replacing my current lamp.Cons:- The remote and smart bulb did not work. The bulb came on, but I was not able to use the remote. In the manual it says to replace the batteries which I did, but it still did not work- Since the remote didn’t work the only way to turn it off is with the Christmas cord style foot press button. Which is inconvenient to say the least when my intent was to use it at my office desk to replace my other lamp. Now, its possible others would use it in another place and possibly use a switch etc to turn it on off so this may not be a big deal for them, so I am not knocking it a lot, but not everyone has a half hot switch.- The manual actual says that when the bulb dies you have to replace the entire lamp. Now I have never heard of or seen a situation where I couldn’t at least put in a regular bulb, or say a Smart Bulb that is not controlled by the remoteUnfortunately for me, with the lack of remote working and with the fact I could not easily turn it on or off, plus the fact that if the bulb dies, I have to replace it, this is not a good choice for me. It still has many good qualities and if the manufacturer replaced the remote and it worked, I might change this review to add a star, but the constant worry that the bulb will die and I have to spend more money to buy another, is not a good purchasing feature for me.
