Unit good packaging ugly
The Humidifier runs good. I was shocked by the bottom packing material as you can see in the photo. I worked over 32years in making custom molded products and this packing material should have been scrap and not put in with your unit. Lucky no damage was done.

Bucket Cracked in Front at Top
About one month ago we began using our Danby DDR050BJP2WDB 50 Pint Dehumidifier. We have had two others that are similar models by Danby. The other day we noticed a small 3/4″ crack in the plastic bucket, near the center top. It is not causing a leak, but a crack in plastic that flexes can be trouble, i.e. it can expand at any time. We applied some super glue and without using very much force to test the repair, it seems to be holding okay.I have attached a stock image of the bucket and tried to show in red where the crack is located.I would have rated this unit with 5 stars had it not been for the cracked bucket.

Dehumidifier
We’ve had it about a month and everything is good so far. This is the second one we’ve bought.

Bought this 50 pt dehumidifier Sep 2024 and it works well. My basement is dry and there’s no musty/mildewy smell. It’s direct venting to the drain in the basement floor. It’s so much easier than emptying buckets. My last Danby lasted 10 years. Let’s hope this one lasts as long.

Large dehumidifier for doing big jobs. Gauge seems very accurate.

So far the dehumidifier has met my expectations. It is working in bringing the humidity down in my basement. At present it is in maintenance mode, keeping the humidity level around the 50% mark. I would have given it a 5 star but I find it a little difficult to close the bottom reservoir after emptying it. As well, the warranty calls for a carry in.

Unit is cycling in and out. I set at 60% humidity. ( My hygrometer shows 54% ) Unit kicks in at 65% humidity, within a minute it goes to 64, 63, 62, 61, 60, 59 . Compressor stops, but fan runs for few more minutes. After the fan stops, humidity gage goes up to 65 again within a minute. And cycle continues. While all along my reliable hygrometer shows 54% relative humidity. Mind you Frigidaire dehumidifier does the same thing.
