Made Our Christmas Lights Very Smart
Made Our Christmas Lights Very Smart. This WiFi yard stake works perfectly. Works with Google Home and Smart Life app. Named it Christmas Lights in the setup. Now I just say, “Hey Google, Turn on (or off) Christmas Lights”. The timer function really sets this apart from other devises since not only can you setup schedules for specific days and times to turn on and off, but you can also have it come on/off at dusk and dawn. But that isn’t through a sensor, it is through the actual time dusk and dawn happen in your time zone, which changes a bit every day. Did not use the supplied plastic stake, which seems super flimsy. It had places on the back to mount it using a couple of screws, so I mounted it in a convenient place on a support on our porch instead. As with pretty much all Smart devises, it can be a bit tricky to get the Smart connection working, but after jumping through some hoops it connected without issue. I highly recommend this device.

Pleasantly surprised how well these have worked. Setup was easy, just had to go to the edge of my Wi-Fi coverage so they would connect to 2.4 of my mesh system. Would recommend.

It works as you would think. The plugs work off an app the only thing that could be a drawback is that it turns them all on or all off. Not plug specific. Other then that you can set up cycles and my favorite timers. Multiple timers. App works well.

Can you use all six outlets with your accessories? Make sure!
The features are great, but the outlet spacing design is what really takes away from this product. Most holiday accessories have these very large power plugs. I was able to use two of the six outlets because of this.

blows every GFCI socket I have
UPDATE 12/7/19: Downgraded to 1 star because this thing blows every single GFCI socket I tested it on – without fail. This is with two short (like 15-20 feet) strings of low wattage outdoor Christmas lights and with nothing else plugged into the socket. When the timer turns the lights on, the power strip trips the GFCI – so no lights. The GFCI is essential for outdoor Christmas lights for obvious reasons. No other timer I’ve ever had does this – in fact I’ve got two of another brand plugged into a GFCI, and no problems. Another thing – you cannot plug outdoor extension cords into it and close the cover because the cords will not bend down as much as the cover needs, and a closed cover was one of the main reasons I bought it – to protect the timer and the connections from rain and snow. Too bad, because I spent a lot of time looking for a power strip with a cover that could close, and this seemed like a good idea, but the execution is not so good. I’m returning it.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wrote this in late November 2019 and gave it 3 stars. The socket powers the pond pump, which draws low amps, and two short (10′) of Christmas lights – and that socket is rated 20 amps. It’s always done fine year after years powering both pump and lights, never tripping. But this time I plugged the same lights into this power strip, and each time it blows the circuit after a few minutes. Yet when I plug the lights directly into the socket with the pump, everything goes back to normal. There’s something going on with this thing.

Picture 2 shows how this setup does not work. 6 outlets but I can only use 1 wart and 1 plug.I came here to review this timer. It was going to be a bad review because I couldn’t get the enclosure door to close completely with just 1 wart and 1 plug. On the bottom of the door, there is a panel that did not allow for the extended wart cable/plug to clear the door. For this review, I took another look. I found that you can actually remove that panel and allow the wart extended cable lock to sit comfortably in the outlet and close the door.I was only able to connect 1 wart (in the bottom middle outlet) and one 16 gauge plug in the top middle outlet. No other combinations are possible, nor can I add more plugs or warts. The door just won’t close. Though it is a normal thickness plug for a 16 gauge outdoor extension cord, it appears my plug/cord is not flexible enough for the outer outlets to clear the door. So I am happy to have at least one wart and one cord in the middle outlets. The other 4 outlets are useless unless you have a very flexible cord, which is not safe for an outdoor plug.The actual timer on this is pretty good. It is easy to set it and forget it. It has 2 settings, one for timer and one for ON all the time. In my opinion, it is functional enough for my use and It seems sturdy enough for my application.

This is very easy to use and to set up the on and off times. Only negative I have is the bottom where the cords are to come out has to much of a bend to it. If you have a thick cord you can’t put it in the bottom row of sockets because you won’t be able to bend it enough to to get the panel closed.
