Works great, easy to program, compatible with nest
We used this as a replacement for a 1st generation nest thermostat that is no longer supported. This new one works flawlessly. It also connects to the nest app as well as the Google home app. (The 4th Gen nest thermostats only connect to Google home). Definitely a great solution for enhanced temperature control.

Fantastic upgrade from an old thermostat
Great product. Glad I purchased it. I wish I had known there was another generation that has an additional sensor that you can use. I would have purchased that instead. This product is a major improvement for my home and works well with a brand new AC unit. I’m excited to see how my utility bills might improve and to have the ability to control the thermostat remotely while traveling.

Easy to install. This was one only smart thermostat I found that worked with a 2 wire system. I’ve had it for about 2 weeks and it’s worked fine.

Buggy as hell – avoid this product
Save yourself a lot of money and aggravation – do NOT buy this product! I have had a smart home for a while, so when I got a new HVAC installed I naturally wanted to get a Google Nest to run it. Within the first two months it’s taken itself offline at least four times now. Multiple different service people confirm that the pro who installed it did so correctly, and the furnace itself is fine. When I looked up the issue – repeated delays in starting – it turns out that many other people have had the same issue. I just pulled it out and got a Honeywell. It’s outside the return window for the Nest, which is outrageous for something so expensive. I really regret trusting the Google brand.

The nest thermostat battery just kept dying. I even wired a power source for continuous charge to no avail. I bought a replacement battery off Amazon and it just didn’t work. I don’t recommend changing it yourself as it’s very easy to damage. After trying different things, I ended up purchasing this new base hoping it would work. After setting it up with the system details, it worked! Plug and play! Got the app working as well! What a relief! Highly recommend if your nest 3rd generation thermostat battery gives out.
