Good Smart Light Switch for Modern Homes Just Need Neutral Wire Access

It supports Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Home without requiring a hub which simplifies setup and reduces extra devices. Installation isn’t too complicated for someone comfortable working with light switches, though you must confirm that a neutral wire is present beforehand. I’ve been using these Kasa smart switches in my bedroom for everything and they easily turn off and turn on the fan lights to the bedside lamps, and they’ve been working flawlessly. They connected and were compatible with Alexa with no hassle, and now I can control everything with my voice or from my phone, makes life a lot easier, especially at night. They were easy to install, work exactly like they’re supposed to, and for the price, the durability has been great. Very happy with the product, these were a great value. Just a solid upgrade for making the house a little smarter without breaking the bank.

All kasa products are pretty good. This works well, easy to assemble.And works with HomeKit Apple. I will buy more. I bought one used like new but was missing one cover. I hope they send me the cover soon, but they are installed and working well. The old switch cover is the same size.

Works well. Install is easy enough. However, the face plate is snaps on with plastic clips – so get it right the first time because I’d bet that, with age, or with a few removals of the face plate, the tiny plastic retainers / clips on it will break off. My only peave: the HomeKit scan sticker for scanning is not attached to the face plate, rather it was floating around in the bag. The scan symbol on the box and on the instructions is different and it does not work. That was a waste of 20 minutes until the proper sticker was found.

I installed the Kasa Apple HomeKit Smart Light Switch KS200P3 at my shop, and it has been an excellent upgrade. The fast response time is impressive—whether I use Alexa or the Kasa app, the lights turn on and off almost instantly. Now, after locking up, I no longer have to walk all the way up front to shut the lights off—I can do it remotely from my Samsung Galaxy or with voice commands through my Sonos Alexa-enabled speakers. Also, a neat feature is the switches have a little glowing circle when they are off so you can easily see them in the dark. I can also program them via Alexa skill or the Kasa app to turn on and off at a certain time. As an IT professional, the app set up is really nice and well thought out. Easy to install, easy to use
Tl;dr, easy to install, great connectivity, and sleek look.I’ve had Kasa plugs for more than five years and knew they’d always worked great for me, but I’d never used anything Matter-enabled from the brand so I was curious how that would go to replace a smart-enabled but cobbled together solution for a stupid kitchen light switch placement.Install of the plug itself was as easy as any other switch (quick tip—if you don’t know which is the live and which is the line and which is the load, after pulling out but before disconnecting your old switch, turn the breaker back on briefly and use a NON CONTACT tester to see which wire is live when the switch is in the off position. The one that sets it off is the line.)Connecting to my Apple Home was exceptionally simple with the included QR code (stick it to the back of your switch plate!) and I haven’t had a single issue asking Siri to turn it on and off. It’s so quick to respond and makes my life so much easier.It has a sleek look and is the exact same size as a standard rocker switch, so if you have a multi-switch box, a normal face plate can still be used. The little indicator light does stay on all the time (at least as far as I’ve seen) but I don’t mind this and it’s not glaringly bright. The switch obviously doesn’t actually rock back and forth which is weird to get used, it’s molded in the usual “on” position and then pushes like a button.

Easy Install and Setup, Works Great
Easy to install the switch, easy to install the app, easy to configure, and works like a charm. I set up one of these to turn on my front porch light at dusk every night, and to turn it off at dawn every day. Couldn’t be easier. Just had to keep telling my wife to stop turning the outside light on/off (yeah, okay, I did the same thing but don’t tell her!). Anyway, all is good now whether we are at home or away. The only caveat is your wiring has to have a neutral wire — very old house wiring does not have a neutral wire.
