Great support and impressive products
I had an issue with my Meross device and reached out to customer support, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Jamie responded quickly, clearly explained the process, and immediately set up a replacement shipment for me. Flaky with HomeKit
UPDATE======After working with MeRoss customer service for the last few months, they’ve pushed a firmware update to my device that seems to have made it much more stable.Like other MeRoss products, this one is FLAKY with HomeKit. Unlike most of my other devices that are pretty stable, this one routinely just stops responding completely in HomeKit, while it still shows up and functions via their native app. so obviously its still connected to wifi just fine. When this happens the only fix is to unplug then replug them which is a pain when they’re installed in a location (such as outlet behind the couch) thats not easy to get to. Skip and get a better brand.

Good value for the price
I love these strip lights. I have also bought Kasa (not HomeKit enabled) and Aqara LED strips. The Aqara ones are WAY more expensive for way less length, though I do like that they are zigbee enabled as I’m trying to keep the number of WiFi devices down on my network (currently over 80 devices at this time). However, I’ve found these Meross strips to be a great value for the price. Length is appreciated, and their brightness level is great for the rooms they are in. Easy to install, easy to add to the Apple HomeKit which is my main driver. Definitely recommend.

Didn’t even last 6 hours
Not impressed at all. I have a meross smart switch and no problems with it other than trying to reset it when moved to new house with new wifi(pain in rear but figured it out). So decided to go with meross again when shopping for smart led strips for behind my tv. Big mistake.First of all realized after the led strip arrived that it didn’t contain right angle connectors so had to buy those separate on amazon and wait for them to arrive. Installation wasn’t bad doing by myself and adhesion seems ok so far. Got everything up and working fine. Tested out the colors and no problems. when went to use the led strip barely a few hours later tho started having problems.First off strip is super finicky at the connectors i used both right angle connectors and 1 straight connector(mismeasured where to cut lol). Randomly a section will stop working so u have to wiggle the a nearby connector to get it working again.The section in my upper right corner of tv is the biggest problem and of course it’s the section with the power controller. Sometimes in color mode all sections show correct color. But sometimes that one problem section shows a completely different color. It also happens in white mode. That problem section will stay one color of white when i’ve changed the color to a different white(like most of led strip will b warm white but that one problem section stays cool white). Also sometimes the strip on bottom of tv and right side will stop working completely when in white mode. It looks ridiculous so now i’ve got to take it all down again. Waste of money.

Lacking some features, and beware of installation “gotchas”
First the pros: I had no problem at all getting this up and running 5 minutes after unpacking it. I had already installed the Meross app on my Android. It paired up in just a few seconds and I was changing colors immediately. A quick google search also showed that I can pair it with Smartthings by connecting the Smartthings app to the Meross app (Smartthing will not discover the Meross device itself). But the integration was seamless and I have a little more control in Smartthings than I do in the Meross app, oddly enough. In addition, the commands from Google Home work great. So I’m very happy with the technical aspect of the integration. I WOULD be nice to have a white LED, but I knew it didn’t going in.The problem I have, however, is that depending on your application, installation can be limited. For example, there’s a cut line every 3rd light instead of between each light. This equates to about every 100mm they can be cut. Now, I’m installing these above a central area in my kitchen in a rectangular pattern, and running them inside some aluminum channels designed for LED strips. The first right angle I was able to use a right angle connector, but the 2nd one fell right between the cut lines. I ended up “folding” the corner (which you’re not supposed to do) and it works, but something to be aware of.The power supply transformer is about 1.125″ x 1.625″ x 3″ in size, so plan accordingly. My other complaint is that the “smart” portion of this device is a small box that has the “in” and “out” wires on the same side of the device, rather than in from one direction, and out the other direction (see photo). The “out” wires are something like 10″ long, so the smart box needs to be very close to your actual light strip. It makes for messy wiring, to the point I built a small MDF box to cover everything which will then be painted. I think a better solution in the wiring would be where the user can cut the length of wire they need for both in an out and attach it into the smart boxWould I buy this again? Probably not. I might look to see if Meross has solved some of these issues with other lights they sell, because I really do like their integration into the various apps and smart home devices.

Light up as it described, doesn’t need any APP, just using apple homekit, scan and it will connect. Light is bright enough, was hoping to buy this for my bedside lamp replacement to save more space, indeed it is bright enough,however if you’re looking for a lamp that can fully brighten up the room, you may need to buy more than a few,it’s still slightly dim.Pros:wont need to download app if you use homekitAhesive strongcontrol is easy to comprehendalso a switch button in case phone doesnt worklevel of luminous is around a bedside lampcons:not suitable if you wanna bright up a room

I’m really impressed with the meross Smart LED Strip Lights! Setup was a breeze — connected to Wi-Fi without any issues, and the app is super easy to use. I love that it works seamlessly with Alexa and Google Assistant, so I can control the lights with just my voice.
