26″ wide if the leaves magically extend outward, it’s really 20″ with a weird floppy design
I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this, as it would match a similar looking garland for my mantel. It’s the same squishy looking material.However, in wreath form, there’s problems. If you look at the photos where I rotated the wreath 90 degrees for each, you see that no matter which way it’s rotated, the top left (10 o’clock position) flops outward. I think with some green floral wire, I can make this stop flopping. I think it might be possible to make this look like the manufacturer’s photos if you were to manually adjust each leaf, but that’s not practical, and honestly, I don’t even know if it’s feasible with such heavy material.The manufacturer’s photos and description claim this is 26″ wide. That would only be possible if each leaf was extended completely outward (tangentially) from the attachment point, which is impossible. Simply hanging it on my hook, with no adjustment on my part (fresh from the box), it’s 20″. Minus 1 star for totally misleading statement of it being 26″. There’s just no way.The frame is solid, so no problems there. But there’s no hanging hook or loop.The leaf material, as mentioned, is a green thick squishy plastic that resembles seaweed. It is definitely not thin paper-like or even wirelike (there’s no wires in the leaves) like you’d see in most trees or wreaths, but that’s the problem. It would benefit the form if, say 10% of these had a wire in them, just to maintain shape and structure. Minus 1 star for not dealing with the floppy, when it is totally feasible with simple wire.I tried hanging this face side down so the leaves would hang down and shook it to try to untangle it and see how it would hang, no improvement.I like the color, it definitely looks more real than any paper or wire fake foliage so it gets 4 stars for the realistic look, but the negatives previously mentioned make me feel there’s no way this is 4 stars with these design problems – the design needs to take into consideration how it will look hanging and in realistic way.
