Power cord to short and stip too heavy for adhesive – NOT SUITABLE FOR RUNNING ALONG CEILING
I bought these to run around the ceiling, but the power plug and physical control buttons were too close to where the lights started, and the light strip is impossible to bend/fold into a right angle (e.g., running up the wall to the ceiling and then “sharp left” to run along the ceiling). Also, the adhesive was not nearly strong enough to hold the strip to the wall.I appreciate what they’ve tried to do here – I had Govee RGBIC light strip previously and it was so flimsy it broke almost immediately. Monster has covered their strip in a thick, transparent coating, which is really nice, but it makes it too heavy for the built-in adhesive. They provide screw-in clips to supplement the adhesive, but not nearly enough to install along the entire length of the strip, and I don’t want to be putting a bunch of holes in my walls.One other gripe: The light strip is rolled up so that the power cord is at the center of the roll. So, if you want to start the installation at your chosen power outlet, you have to unroll the entire strip to get to the end with the plug. I only got a couple of feet into installation before these other issues made it apparent this product wasn’t going to work for me, but I imagine if I went through the whole installation, this would make the process more difficult and increase the risk of damaging the light strip.These would be perfect if A) the adhesive was strong enough to hold the weight of the strip and B) there was more cord between the physical controller and where the lights start on the strip.If you could run cord easily up the wall and then bend the cord to orient the strip properly for installation along the ceiling, these would be absolutely amazing.

Fun lighting that was easy to set up
I’m really impressed with these LED strip lights. Right out of the box, the package felt comparable to other products in this price range, and the lights themselves feel sturdy enough to handle without damaging them during installation.Set-up was a breeze. The process was straightforward, and they connected to my WiFi network without any issues. A quick wipe-down of the wall with rubbing alcohol ensured the adhesive backing held great, providing a secure and lasting hold that hasn’t drooped yet.I opted to run these lights along the edge of my ceiling. The 10-foot length was a little shorter than I’d hoped, primarily due to the short USB cable for reaching an outlet. However, navigating ceiling corners was simple and a gentle loop allowed me to continue the run smoothly.Once installed, the lights truly shine! The adjustable brightness is fantastic, offering plenty of illumination whether it’s day or night. The colors are vivid and appear accurate, adding a great ambiance to the room. I particularly like that most of the color effects can be cycled through directly using the in-line remote button, and the transitions are smooth.While there are slight delays when making changes via the app, the smart controls work exceptionally well. I’ve easily set them up to automatically turn off and on at desired times, which is a huge convenience. There’s more than enough customization to play around with, keeping me entertained with different lighting scenes.I haven’t had the chance to test the Google Home or Razer Chroma integrations, nor did I try the sound-reactive setting (as those tend to be underwhelming in my experience). Importantly, with the right power supply, I haven’t noticed any overheating issues. The lights are also flexible enough to make gentle curves around corners, which is a plus for creative installations.Overall, I believe the performance of these lights truly matches their price. I’m so pleased that I would buy them again – and I actually already have! My boys thought they were cool, so I ordered a set for their room too. Whether I got them on sale or paid full price, I can confidently say they were worth every penny.
