Thoughtful berevement gift.
I wanted to try this item because I wanted to give my niece something to remember her mom. I loved the sentiment on the outside of the jar. It is a perfect size for a nightstand or a windowsill. I put two AAA batteries in the lid and put the light string inside the paper that is included in the jar. I read the paper was supposed to give off a starlight effect. All it gives is a frosted effect, no stars. Once I give it to my niece and leave it on for longer than I did, I will see if things change. I took one star away for that, and the light string is very delicate and will flicker on and off if you are not careful. I am hoping this will not be a continued issue.It will make a thoughtful gift and if the light string seems like it will not work, I will bring a different string with a cell battery instead of two AAA batteries and see if that makes things better.

Not frosted glass
This Jar is cute and the message is very nice but I thought the glass was frosted and it’s not. It’s just a clear glass jar with a frosted piece of paper inside that’s kind of freely moving around the inside of the jar. Even though the lights seem like they are led although I’m not even sure on that, I’m not a huge fan of the idea of having lights sitting on up against a piece of paper for hours. I’m kind of disappointed in the design.

I added my own flowers and it’s beautiful
I got this to send for a funeral, and it turned out perfect. It’s a small pint size glass ( like – the brand you know- jar) with a tin twist on lid. I did use a clear balloon glue dot to stick on the edge of the jar rim and pushed the plastic battery plate onto it, otherwise the plate sticks inside the lid when you take the lid off to turn the lights on/off and pulls the light strand out. That solution works flawless, now that I have it filled, the light won’t pull out, and you can take the lid off to access the switch easily. The text is actually printed on a clear sticker, but blends so well that it’s difficult to find any edges. My lable was just very slightly crooked, not enough to be noticed, unless you are examining it like I did for this review. It comes with a white piece of paper inside that makes the text easier to see, but you can fill it with anything you want, and if it’s light, you will still see the writing. The light strand is typical fairy lights on thin, bendable wire, and they all light up very pretty. You do need to add your own batteries, 2AAA. There is also a twine rope tied onto the rim for an added touch. This is a great value, and made a unique and lovely arrangement for the service, but can be kept as a keepsake for years.
