The fan is now smarter…okay it’s the switch!
This is easy to install, works like a champ and easy to see what the fan speed is. Having a lot of smart outlets, switches and plugs around the house by various manufacturers trust me this is one of the better to install and set up!

great option
Excellent purchase. Needed switches that would work with Alexa directly as our Samsung hub died. Installed and they paired up perfectly. No issues, easy install.

Occasionally temporarily unresponsive
It works well for fan operation. My two biggest complaints:1. It sometimes loses connectivity. I did fight this at first, but I found that if I wait for a few minutes, it becomes responsive again.2. The physical spacing vertically is slightly different for the ceiling switch vs. the single pole or three way switches, so when used together, the cover plate fits very tight below the fan switch.

Easy app setup.
This fan switch is crazy easy to set up from Alexa app.It does require a neutral wire. The circuitry’s good. My fan always had a slight hum with my old switch. There is no hum with this switch.

Simple, Smart Fan Switch
This switch works very well. It was easy to install if you have basic knowledge of electrical. It fit just fine in the electrical opening. It is only able to be controlled by the Alexa app but, if you are ordering it, you probably have the app on your phone. You can manually control it from the switch itself and setting the speed that way is super easy. I recommend this fan switch.

Beware – don’t buy if you plan to install with a multi-gang wall plate
Beware! I have installed many Amazon smart switches and dimmers over the years at several homes and in general I have really liked them. However, Amazon seems to have recently changed their manufacturing design to incorporate thick plastic mounting tabs on their smart switches (rather than the thin aluminum tabs on past products). This thickness causes normal wall plates to stick out from the wall with about a 1/8″ gap. The switches come with a single gang snap on wall plate that is very nice and compensates for this issue with no gap, but that does not work if you are incorporating multiple switches in a multi-gang box. I looked everywhere for a multiple 2-gang wall plate that would work but to no avail. You would think Amazon would offer different configuration wall plates (2, 3, 4 gang) that would just snap into their switches since it is very common to mount multiple switches together – but of course they do not. Or, at minimum offer a screw on plate that compensates for the depth – but of course they do not. I have tried many different manufactures plates and none of them work. I noticed several other recent reviewers have had this issue as well and have compensated by caulking the gap (no thanks), or using plate extensions (no thanks), or even digging out the back of plates with a Dremel (no thanks). I have read all the documentation and watched all the videos at Amazon and they do not address what plates are compatible. I have tried their product support but they do not offer live support or even email support for their own products (go figure that?). Do not buy their smart switches if you plan to mount them with other switches in the box, or be prepared for the same frustration that I and others have had.

Excellent Choice for a Smart Switch
Super easy to install and connect to my existing Alexa account. Don’t be scared off about the “load” line needing to be red. A quick You Tube viewing and I learned the “load” is simply the black wire going to the device. I had a red and black going to the fan. I paired them both with the load wire from the switch. All worked great.

Easy to install, works fine but the medium speed setting is slower than expected
The installation and pairing is easy enough but there is one thing I dislike about the fan control. While the description says that there are 4 fan speeds, they must be talking about off as a fan speed because it only has high, medium, and low. Coming from manual fan controls, I will say that the speeds of low and high are comparable to that of my previous manual control but the medium speed is off on the Amazon controller. The medium is too slow so I find myself using high more frequently but high is excessive. It’s like there should be a medium-high setting that doesn’t exist and that would be the sweet spot. The ability to customize the speed settings would be very welcome but I imagine that’s hard coded in firmware.
