Easy setup…fun to check on things without going into the cold.
We set this up pretty quickly and were pleasantly surprised by how easy the setup was (no yelling at the instructions, which is a win). The features work great, the recording is clear, and the night vision definitely sees more than we do in the dark. The notifications let us know when something’s happening without blowing up our phones. Bonus points for surviving snow and cold while still charging off the sun. Overall, solid camera, good functionality, and gives us peace of mind without the headaches.

Great price, great camera, great quality
I researched for months and decided to pull the plug on this baby. Well I am glad I did!!! After ordering from Amazon I received my camera in two days! The camera was well packaged and looked great. I unpacked it and it felt very sturdy made of great material. I read the instructions and they are pretty simple to understand. The mounting is extremely easy. Screw the mounting plate by three screws that are included in the kit is a very easy task. The kit also comes with an adhesive sticker to place where the mount will go so the holes can be drilled if mounting on a brick wall or to drill pilot holes for the screws. Kit also comes with charging wire, USB A to USB C to charge the camera before installing it (which I highly recommend). This way the solar panel on the camera can just maintain the power in the batteries instead of trying to play catch up.I set up the camera to charge before ever installing it , because they are usually not fully charged. I connected the camera to charge and while it charged I download the AOSU App from the app store. I created an account and registered. I then turn on the camera and began adding it to the AOSU app. It was very easy to add. After syncing the camera I can now see the charging percentage of the camera.Fast forwardI mounted the camera and was so easy to install. After the installation I played around with the cameras pan, tilt, and zoom and boy are they just awesome. From the instant response to the virtual controls to the image being so clear. The motion detection is awesome, cameras will follow the motion it detects very accurately.. Every time my doggos were outside my cameras would follow them. The zoom is great and very clear. Night Vision is excellent, I posted Night vision picture with no lights and a night time image with my solar lights. Overall, this camera has been the best Security Cameras I have ever owned. AOSU has the best performing cameras at a very great value. Very inexpensive. Plus with the local SD card storage there is no need for subscription ( No Subscription Required) . The fixed solar panel eliminates the use of wires and electricity. Also, your connection will depend on where the camera is placed. I recently upgraded my wifi with mesh wifi so I connected my camera to the closest mesh to the cameras and I’m getting 99% connectivity. Couldn’t be happier with my AOSU Solar Security Camera SolarCam D1 Classic is A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PRODUCT.

Good security cam at a decent price
So far it’s been pretty good however, twice, on it’s own it went ” offline”. Battery was full. Wi-Fi was strong. When I went back up on the ladder to fix it, it was moving around on it’s own and apparently, it recovered on it’s own. Second time was a false offline event also. It’s powers up great with the solar panel. So far it’s been fine. Video is great. Like the follow person feature.

I have had another brand cameras but chose these due to price being about 1/3. VERY HAPPY with every aspect of the camera! Set up, connectivity, quality of image, tracking, visuals, storage and notifications are all superior. Excellent product for a great price! Will be buying more.

Excellent Customer Support and Camera
These are the only cameras I have on my house. They work very well for my needs of being disabled and living alone at 65 years old. I like the tracking features and clarity of video. I like being able to have so many settings that are tailored to fit my needs. I have had police ask for my video and use them in prosecution because they were that clear in sight/sound.I just recently had a problem with one camera’s solar panel not charging at all even though it is on a south facing wall with no obstructions. The support staff were prompt at answering my email and replaced the camera. I am a very satisfied customer.

Great cameras, especially for the price!
I’m very happy with these cameras! I bought two for the outside area of my business. It’s not like they’re the absolute highest quality cameras out there, but they certainly do the trick and, for the price, they’re good quality! I was happy with the ease of set up and how well they stay charged (which surprised me!) I honestly didn’t expect the solar thing to work out that well, because I live in Michigan and we have a lot of cloud coverage. I’ve had the cameras for a few months now and have never had to take them in for manual charging (we’ll see how winter goes…) We bought 128 GB SD cards for them and that works perfectly…no need to pay monthly subscriptions. I also really appreciate being able to see (real time as well as recorded events) from my phone. I did have one issue with the charging on one of the cameras after a couple months, and the customer service team was absolutely amazing and helpful and when we couldn’t solve the problem with troubleshooting, they sent a new camera for free. Overall, VERY happy with these cameras and with AOSU!

This is what a security camera should be. Excellent clarity, 360 degrees views if necessary, defined event recognition ie human animal , very good night vision without ir great with, hellasish audio alarm, app alarm, illumination light, great connectivity to Wi-Fi network. I’ll update my review if any issues but so far best I’ve had

I bought this solar camera back in April 2025 and have it installed on our front yard. It’s been very reliable especially it being solar powered and wireless. it’s very convenient to install and setup process is straight forward.But just a couple of weeks I started getting notifications from the camera that its not charging. I reached to customer support and completed a quick diagnosis of the issue. After their tech team has confirmed that the camera is defective I was directed to the escalation team to have a replacement sent to me. To make the story short, I got the replacement camera the next day and got it installed. Everything is working perfectly even at -30 degrees celsius.I’m extremely satisfied on how great their customers support team, especially with Julie. Thanks for the quick turnaround on resolving the issue.

This is an excellent security camera! Setup is quick and effortless, and the picture quality is outstanding. The night vision works flawlessly, and the included solar panel keeps the battery fully charged whenever it gets sunlight. Even without sun, the battery lasts for weeks, so there’s no need to worry about cloudy days. For its price range, this camera offers an impressive number of features. The human-tracking function performs very well, and events can be recorded either on a separately purchased micro SD card or through optional cloud storage. Overall, I highly recommend both this camera and Aosu as a company.
