Great looking and Sturdy
Arrived in good condition except for a small gash on the bottom of one of the front panels. Made the gash look better by using some Old English. Bench was well packed and pieces were well protected. Directions putting the bench together were fairly easy to follow. Make sure the end supports with the legs are positioned so the predrilled holes are in the rear and not in the front. That’s the one goof I made, but it only took a few minutes to correct. Err! One nice touch is the spring supported bench seat. The seat will stay in the open position until you push the seat down. The dark rustic brown finish works well with the dark browns of the picture frame which hangs above the bench and the other brown finishes in the family room. Makes a great addition to the entranceway to our house. I use the compartments to store footwear and my dog’s leash. Now I have a place to sit while putting on the leash and my crocs. I also store the crocs in the bench. Very sturdy. Plan to buy a bench cushion for the seat, but there aren’t that many out there in the 42″ by 15″ size. There is a place to order one online but the cost is almost $90. Err! Overall, my wife and I really like this piece of furniture.

Needs feet so you can adjust if anything is uneven
This bench is really gorgeous and good quality. All the pieces were included and there was ample extra hardware just in case. The instructions were easy to follow and with two people it’s pretty easy to assemble. I only have two suggestions. First, there should be adjustable feet you can screw into the legs- like they include with bookcases- in case anything is uneven. The bench rocks slightly so we had to put something under one of the legs to keep it steady. Also- they could indicate which side is the front and which is the back. I had to take the arms off and put them back on because they were facing the wrong way. Other than that, no complaints.

Awesome bench.
Cute bench. It arrived early. All parts were perfect. Instructions were very clear. It took me 20 minutes to put together. It’s correct height to sit and put on the shoes. Good storage space. I love this bench.

Parts Broken or Broke
Size, price, looks are fine. The first one we ordered came with one of the pieces of wood broken. They could replace the part, so we returned it and got a replacement bench.The second one all the pieces were intact. Fairly easy to put together. It has a hinge that is supposed to stop the lid from falling and crushing fingers. I mounted the hinge per instructions, but after the second or third use, the screws that attach it to the lid broke free from the wood. Now, the hinge is bent and there’s no way to place it anywhere else as there’s nothing to attach it to.We are going to place some of the cushions you put under furniture legs on it so at least it won’t drop all the way. I’m not sure yet how this will affect the lid hinges or sitting on the bench to take off/put on shoes.

Cute bench!
Was looking for a bench for our entryway by the staircase, that had both a backrest and storage. This serves exactly that. It was well packed and provided with clear instructions. Having a handy drill helps with the screws. Due to the partition in the middle of the storage space though, it won’t fit a lot of large items but we just needed something to store scarves, gloves, etc. so this was perfect for that. It is very cute looking and can be a great accent to any room. The rustic brown is a gorgeous chocolate brown color. Highly recommend!

Super Cute Bench
Super cute bench. Beautiful wood with color variations and knots. Well packaged. All parts were provided in little numbered ziplock bags. And the directions were easy to follow. With the help of an Allen bit for my drill, I had it assembled in about 40 mins.This bench really deserves 5 stars but mine is scratched pretty badly and the pre-drilled holes in the seat where the hinges screw into it are off about an 1/8 inch so now the seat doesn’t close flush and rubs on one side. But that can be fixed by my husband. As for the scratch? I know it wasn’t because of poor quality. Sometimes things sneak by inspection. I’m sure I can get my stain pens out and work some magic. So I highly recommend this sweet little bench. I may get another for the bedroom.

Purchased one, exchanged, returning the second
First one that arrived had 3 pieces that had long running cracks in them. Exchanged, and received the second today. The new replacement also has 3 pieces that are cracked, but different pieces than the first. No damage on the box – I give up.

I love it. I didn’t find it hard to put together like a lot of the other comments. It is a good size for an entry way,looks great. Made well, I like that it is solid wood and not veneer particle board, I would buy it again.

Easy to put together follow instructions the one problem I had was the line up of top hinges holes.

Easy to assemble and very pretty.The mechanism for opening the storage compartment is very smooth.One downside was that there was a cracked piece in the box. Nothing some wood glue and screwed couldn’t fix.

Get 90% through the installation align the holes for the bench lid hinges and find out it rubs with the left arm. I had to screw new holes to allow the lid to shut properly. Drilling new holes for prefab furniture like this isn’t ideal. Otherwise a solid unit, got it on sale, would’ve been 2 stars otherwise.
