Handy Bench for Small Spaces!
This little bench is very sturdy for its size and was extremely easy to assemble! It only took a few minutes to put together, and everything lined up well without any hassles at all. Mine didn’t come with the logo on the side that other buyers mentioned, which was a nice surprise.The cushion on top is comfortable enough for sitting while putting on shoes, but the material doesn’t really feel like genuine leather. It has a shiny finish that looks fine at first, but I could see it cracking or peeling with heavy use over time. A slipcover might help it last longer or just reupholstering like I will eventually.The two tier shelf underneath is solid and can handle multiple pairs of shoes without wobbling. So it’s a great addition if you need just a quick seat by the door to get your shoes on!~

Solid but has room for improvement
Pros:The overall look of this bench is great. The solid wood has a nice finish and fits well with the decor and look of my living space. It definitely adds a stylish touch to my entryway. I appreciate that it came with a shoe horn and shoe wiping cloth (not sure if I’ll use though). It also came with gloves, but I’m also not sure what I’m supposed to do with them. There was no information in the package about them so I guess I’ll save them somewhere whenever I may need gloves with some grip?Cons:Assembling it was more annoying and frustrating than expected. While at first glance, the instructions may look simple and straightforward, they were confusing at times and in some places, flat-out incorrect. The cushion didn’t have pre-drilled holes, which made attaching it much harder than it should have been. Also, on one side of the bench on the wood is the logo of the retailer, which takes away from the classic, elegant look of the bench and definitely devalues it. If they wanted their brand on there, I wish it was more hidden away. There were also some nicks and dents here and there on the wood pieces.The bench isn’t flush with the floor, which makes it feel a little wobbly when you sit down, which is not ideal for functionality, especially if you have anyone in your home with walking or stability issues. While the bench does the job and looks good, I don’t think it fully justifies the cost. For the price, I expected better attention to detail and and easier assembly.

Low-Quality Garbage
There’s a lot not to like about this. ‘Solid wood’ is a misnomer, of course, it’s MDF/particle board/engineered wood/some other kind of glued-together sawdust product. You can’t really call it solid because it’s many leftover bits from real wood held together with a lot of glue as a binder. That’s to be expected at this price point, but still, the product description starts with a misrepresentation.The instructions are nonsensical, owing to bad translation (product made in China). The rods for the lower shelf are drilled for screws, and the instruction at that step says to screw them in, but there’s nowhere to screw them into the outer braces, of course. The rods were warped out of shape out of the package and wouldn’t stay straight. Assembly was pretty dicey owing to the generally cheap nature of the product; there aren’t holes drilled in a lot of places there should be to allow the screws to find purchase in the particle board, so you’ve got to apply pressure and hope the holes don’t get torn out from the screws retreating through weak MDF material during assembly. This is especially true with the screws that hold the seat onto the rest of the frame, as they have to punch through a fabric layer and into undrilled MDF without wandering off target. In hindsight, I should have clamped the seat on the frame and predrilled through the screw holes into the seat bottom to do the work the manufacturer should have, but since I didn’t two of the screws ripped out and gravity is the only thing holding the bench onto the frame now.So, basically, it’s a half-finished mess, overpriced, questionably stable, and seems unlikely to survive any particular length of time. Stung once again by poor quality Chinese products, unfortunately. Oh, and the bench is too low over the shelf to fully stow anything higher than low-tops, as you can see in the picture. Boooo.
