Quite excellent!
I bought 4 of these to replace my YI Home cameras, now that that company has dropped any real ability to use view the cameras! I had an older Wyze cam that was still working, so it seemed they could build reliable stuff. I have been VERY impressed!Setup was rather amazingly fast…way faster than other systems that require you to be scanning codes with the camera, etc.Image quality is EXCELLENT. Far better than expected.Night vision is AMAZING. I replaced the older Wyze in my garage and the difference is night and day (pun intended!) in the ability of this thing to present an image in low light!!!The mounts have turned out to be quite flexible in getting the thing pointed where you want. And the app is straightforward, and works!VERY satisfied!

Great Camera, Even Greater Price
Great camera at an amazing price! Setup is very simple, the app is functional and accessible, and best of all: no subscription required! Every function you need from the camera is included for free, unlike Blink cameras.Detection is accurate and both day and night image quality is clear. The only thing I would consider subpar is the speaker quality for two-way audio. Otherwise, I highly recommend this camera, especially for keeping an eye on pets.

Great product
I bought the Wyze Cam v4 hoping to catch a porch pirate. What I actually caught was far more valuable: a high-definition recording of my cat, Fred, attempting to steal a rotisserie chicken off the counter at 3 AM. The 2.5K resolution is absolutely terrifyingly crisp, letting me clearly see the pure, maniacal concentration on his furry little face. The ‘Vibrant Color Night Vision’ is no joke; it was like watching a cinematic heist in HD, not some grainy ghost footage. The AI security feature, bless its heart, pinged me with the alert: “MOTION DETECTED: LARGE FELINE OPERATING WITH QUESTIONABLE INTENT.” Honestly, it’s the funniest money I’ve ever spent. Setup was so simple even my technologically inept self managed it without needing the “Free Expert Help.” Plus, I love that I don’t need a subscription just to confirm that my pet is a tiny criminal mastermind. If you want surveillance that doubles as an avant garde comedy series, you need this camera. Five stars, because now I know Fred’s weakness is poultry, and I can’t unsee it.

Valid camera
Need a subscription for all of the features, but they offer discounts and this camera works perfectly. Full quality resolution and color even at night, vehicle and person detection, automatic incident logging on the app. Easy to use and recommend using a window mount with it which is a separate product but worth the cost.

Wyze newest cameras are failing. What is happening?
First, I use a wide variety of camera makes and models. However, years ago I discovered Wyze and their low cost and easy to use with good video (for the time) security cameras. I bought 12 of those over the next year of them first appearing, including the Pan an V1 versions. Note that every single one of these cams STILL work, even the ones outdoors (with the silicon protectors on them) and been running just fine till this day. However, once we hit v3 and v4, and the new Pan cameras, two of the pan cameras I just recently bought, they either failed at waterproofing (despite me making sure the rubber doors were secure and they were under the eaves to protect from direct rain) and one just died and took a SD card with it. This was a Pan cam in black. I replaced it with a v4 gray stationary camera, not even a month after using it it no longer will connect to ANY network no matter how close or distance. I have a dedicated network for my POE, other brands and Wyze on a high end router and extenders where needed. Then I bought two more white latest version of the Pan cameras to put on either side of my house garage door, and these had protective domes above them even though they are “waterproof”. Let’s name them G1 and G2 (which is what they are called). G1 is on the south of the door which faces West. G2 is North of the door still facing West so that they can cover by motion tracking (G1) and pan scanning (G2) as I get a LOT of deliveries. On the front of my house there are 6 Wyze cameras and one Amcrest (which never has failed in any manner). Right now only G2 out of all 6 front porch and garage Wyze cameras have stopped working or stopped connecting to any network even if I take them down and reset them and use a different network (I have 3 networks running through my property here). The Black Pan Cam that was on the SouthWest corner of the house (still the front) died after being filled with water despite sealed and not directly in the rain.G1 just has stopped connecting yet seems to be still “operating” on its own following around. Trust me I have tried different extenders, networks, and the next is high powered POE extenders that have a huge range but so far it won’t connect to anything. G2 still works doing it’s Panning job but as with ALL Wyze cameras your chance of actually keeping a connection and watching what is going on is IFFY at best.I replaced the SW Black Pan with a v4 stationary camera. A couple of months later it now no longer works or won’t connect. A few feet east of it is a Wyze camera that is supposed be watching my parking area, it too has stopped working.I have another v4 on the front porch above the locking mailbox (which is secured to the side of the house) and it watches nothing but the front porch as shipments come in and I finally realized it TOO is now not working. What is going on? All the “newest” versions of Wyze cameras SUCK! They keep failing.I have one more pan (covered from rain) on the NE corner of my house watching my gate entry between my neighbor and my home. It stopped working.(sorry for the long post but it continues)Now note that ALL my old cameras but one (a first generation pan cam) are STILL WORKING. One in one of my buildings rock solid watching who enters the building. Another one above my Lab building door watching who is at that security door. A first generation PAN cam with a silicone cover and mounted on an older Pan Cam holder, under an eave is still, after ALL these years of it being out in the rain, snow, storms, tornados and the like WORKING JUST FINE! All the first generation Wyze cameras all still work even the ones I have stored in a box I pulled out and tested, no problems.I also pay a monthly fee for all my cameras to be on Wyze’s “advanced software and AI stuff” subscription for all the cameras. Lot good it actually does! That will be turned off very soon, and 32 Wyze cameras including the old ones that still work, I will be dancing around a bonfire with them melting and posting it to YT.I have invested hundreds of dollars in new Wyze cameras because I liked their simplicity and decent video quality, and that they worked. But since Gen 3 nearly every camera is failing while Gen 1 and 2 are doing just fine. I wasted that money, plus the infrastructure to connect them all to the network expanding it (something I know how to do very well) and they all get solid signals. I have tested over and over again. Now I have at least 6 “new” and “improved” cams that are worthless. They can’t even watch a rock sitting still 2 feet away without dying.Naturally Wyze doesn’t have a great warranty that I am aware of and some now may be out of the warranty but since Amazon started really promoting Wyze and they got popular their quality has gone drastically down. I didn’t want to spend thousands on high end cameras when I THOUGHT Wyze would work just fine, and even switching some of them to different networks (the ones that didn’t physically fail) to take the load off thinking that might be it, well even a brand new high end router with long range and three satellites can’t keep them connected if you can connect at all to them.So to all new customers I saw, “LOOK ELSEWHERE” for a decent camera cause you cannot depend on these cameras when you NEED them to work. I haven’t heard from Wyze at all on the matter despite numerous emails. I would rather spend $300 to $800 per single camera KNOWING it’s going to work rock steady and not fail anytime soon (AS IT”S CRITICAL FOR ME) than spend a few hundred on cheaper and cheaper lack of quality builds all because of “new tech” in them (which the high end cameras also have AND have better video quality and can recognize license plates). So it’s in your hands now Wyze. I doubt you will do a thing because you sell in BULK, not quality anymore.

⭐⭐ I’m impressed!!I purchased two of the Wyze Cam v4 (2.5K HD) cameras about four months ago, and overall I’m very happy with them. Below is a breakdown of what works well and what I’ve noticed. What I Like:1. Image quality & night vision:The clarity is excellent, even in low light. The color night vision is a big upgrade over older security cams I’ve used (Lorex). I can make out faces and details at night. I compared this to my Ring Doorbell 3 Plus that I reinstalled at the same time as these, and it’s not a comparison at all. The Wyze (to be fair, it’s newer and has more advanced technology) is much clearer during the day, and especially at night. At night, the Ring only works for items up close and rarely catches movement more than about six feet away.2. Indoor/outdoor flexibility:These are weather rated (IP65), so I’ve used one outside under a covered porch and one on the eve of the house. The one on the eve is exposed to so much more weather, and is handling it like a champ. They handle light rain/dampness just fine (so far)…snow is coming; we will see about how that is!3. Motion-activated spotlight + siren:When motion is detected, the LED spotlight and voice warning kick in. Both are optional and you can shut them off, but having the spot light turn on is lovely. This light is bright enough to avoid putting on our outside light at night. This is helpful as a deterrent. The siren is fairly loud, but not something I require the use of.4. Setup & app usability:Setup was straightforward. The magnets on the bases are amazing, plus each cam comes with permanent mounting hardware. I have yet to use the permanent mounts; the magnets are prefect. The one cam is stuck upside down to a metal piece under the eve, and it’s stayed through crazy wind and weather without issue. The other is resting on a screw on the handrail of the deck and it doesn’t move either. The Wyze app is intuitive, and switching between my two cameras is seamless. The dual audio (two-way) works well when I check in.5. Value for money:For the features you get (2.5K resolution, weather rating, color night vision, motion alerts, etc.), this is a strong value. I feel like I got “more cam for the money.” Who’d have thought for $50 I could get a great quality security camera?⚠️ What I’ve Noticed / What Could Be Better• Power / wiring limitationsThese are wired cameras (not battery based). If your location is far from a power outlet, you need to order longer cables. I had to order a couple of 20 foot cables separately since I didn’t have an outlet 5 feet away. This was a bit of a hassle.• Motion detection false positives:Occasionally, I get alerts from shifting shadows, or leaves/branches blowing in the wind. And sometimes I get alerts from rain. Let’s not forget spiderwebs and the odd moth. The detection isn’t perfect. You’ll want to fine-tune your sensitivity settings and zones to reduce false alerts. During rainstorms, I reduce my sensitivity a fair bit so if a still get alerts but not hundreds over a short period.• Latency / lag:There’s a slight (or sometimes a little longer) delay (a second or two, up to 5 to 10 seconds) between motion and when the live feed shows up. It’s not a deal breaker, but worth noting if you’re expecting instant response. I suspect this is due to my Wifi and not the cameras/app themselves. I did not want to wire any camera with Ethernet direct again, so this is the cost of using wireless, in my opinion.• Subscription vs local recordingTo get advanced features (person, package, pet detection), a Cam Plus subscription helps. But if you don’t want to pay, local microSD recording is viable, though you lose some “smart detection” features. And this was the basic subscription I got, not the Cam Unlimited Pro. The Unlimited Pro actually recognizes faces you have saved in the app as family/friends (which makes notifications of people a lot easier), allows you to search with a search button for specific events (rather than scrolling nonstop), 60 day cloud backup (vs 14 on Cam Plus), etc. I didn’t need this feature, but did want cloud backup so I chose the Cam Plus.💡 Tips / Best Practices l• Place the camera at about 7–9 ft height (2–3 meters); high enough to reduce tampering, low enough for good detail.• Point the motion zone toward typical movement paths (walkway, door, driveway) to reduce stray triggers.• Use decent microSD cards (if using local storage); go for brands with good write speed and reliability.• Test the setup at night after installation to ensure the color night vision works well where you place it.In summary:If you’re looking for an affordable, capable camera for both indoor and outdoor use, the Wyze Cam v4 is a strong pick. Between my two units, I haven’t had any major issues yet, and I feel confident in their performance. Of course, like all cameras, they aren’t perfect; but for the price and features, I’d recommend it.

Much improved clarity compared to previous and the spotlight not only provides light but as it is motion sensitive it acts as a deterrent.Clearly recorded an intruder at 4am and aided in his apprehension.

Can’t see the video recorded unless you need to pay monthly subscription for each camera.

Camera is fine and a reasonable priced at around £50 each but the cost of using the clever detection and storage feature is ridiculous. £140 per year for their enhanced detection. Anywhere you go in the app it is trying to flog you their subscription service. It also doesn’t work with Apple Home which is why I bought it.
